NEUMANN KPG 38kV VLF & 50kV DC Portable Cable Test Set

NEUMANN KPG 38kV VLF & 50kV DC Portable Cable Test Set Manufactured by Neumann Elektrotechnik GmbH Germany. The portable cable test sets KPG 20kV VLF and KPG 38kV VLF are used for testing of medium voltage cables with extruded insulation (XLPE-, PE-, EPR-insulation) and nominal voltage up to 3.3kV / 6.6kV / 11kV / 12kV / 22kV (KPG 38kV VLF) in accordance to DIN VDE 0276 / 620 (CENELEC HD 620). Test is carried out with an low strain practice with very low frequency voltage of 0.1Hz and proof voltage level of 3x U0 r.m.s. Test enables detection of damages of insulation within short test time. The device are also able to test medium voltage cables with impregnated paper insulation. Cable sheath test with direct voltage is possible as well.

VLF Very Low Frequency AC Hipots are generally used to provide a go/no-go, or pass/fail, high voltage withstand test for medium and high voltage cables. It can also be used as the voltage source for diagnostic cable testing with suitable accessories.
